Propylene glycol is an organic compound with chemical formula of C3H8O2, which is miscible with water, ethanol and various organic solvents. Under normal conditions, it is a colorless viscous liquid, almost odorless, and slightly sweet upon closer inspection.
Propylene glycol can be used as a raw material for unsaturated polyester resin, and can be used as a wetting agent in cosmetics, toothpaste, and soap in combination with glycerol or sorbitol. It is used in hair dyes as a moisture adjusting and hair uniforming agent, as well as Antifreeze, and also in Cellophane, plasticizer and pharmaceutical industry.
